Rules of Conduct

The following is a set of rules for the deportment of all who come before the General Court of Titulia. For those who intend upon practicing law or appearing before the Court as witnesses will be expected to follow this protocol.

1. Court is considered to be in session whenever:
a. Documents are submitted to the Court in its official capacity
b. Responses to official correspondence from the Court
c. A meeting of the Justices occurs in a public sphere
d. Comments are made in the context of the General Court Forum

2. When addressing the Court, petitioners, witnesses and their representatives will:
a. Address the Court in a respectful manner, using appropriate titles and names
b. Avoid the use of swear words or phrases representing obscene speech of any kind
c. Await the request of the Court before addressing the Court in a public chatroom
d. Address opposing parties in a respectful manner
e. Avoid direct interaction with opposing parties unless examining a witness or arguing a point of law to the bench
f. Follow the directives of the Court to the best of their abilities

3. When before the Court, attorneys and representatives:
a. Have a duty to tell the truth to the Court so long as Attorney-Client privilege is not     breached by the statement
b. Will be considered to be under oath and Officers of the Court so long as they represent another party
c. Are required to inform the Court in the event that a client intends to flee the jurisdiction
d. Will not be given additional warning with regard to Contempt of Court
e. Have a duty to make certain that their witnesses and clients are present for any hearing at which the Court has ordered that person to attend

4. Witnesses are:
a. To be sworn in before their testimony
b. Expected to tell the truth in all cases, except those that would breach some widely recognized privilege
c. Expected to follow the reasonable dictates of the Court
d. To be given one warning with regard to Contempt of Court
